A 1970s home was opened up to take in the river view and give the kitchen a cleaner, more durable layout.

The original layout broke up the view, separated the main living areas, and still had dated finishes, including carpet in the kitchen.
We removed key walls, updated the finishes, improved adjacent utility spaces, and redesigned the kitchen for everyday durability and easier entertaining.
The home now feels more connected, with longer sightlines, better work zones, and materials that are easier to live with.
During the first meeting with our client, Pat, he told us he owned a home on a bluff above the Snake River and he wanted to take full advantage of the 135 degree view of the river and redo the kitchen to a more modern and functional space. He works from his home and wanted to use part of the space as an office so he could see the river while he works. He also hoped to rework his laundry room, add storage space and create a workout room from two bedrooms that weren’t being used effectively.
